Flying Wild Hog is giving us more time with Lo Wang in his over-the-top return in Shadow Warrior 3. But exactly how much more time will we be spending with the coarse katana-swinging, gun-slinging protagonist?
With each successive release in the Shadow Warrior series since the 2013 reboot, the entries have reduced in length. Shadow Warrior is reported as commonly taking upwards of 10 hours, with completionists managing to triple that number. Shadow Warrior 2‘s core campaign (which included co-op) could be knocked out in several hours, but the side missions could push that time commitment north of 20 hours. Unfortunately, Shadow Warrior 3 continues this trend, clocking in as the shortest game yet.
Shadow Warrior 3 takes a mere 4-5 hours to complete. Unlike its predecessors, the newest installment is lacking in notable extras to pad out that time. The experience is relatively linear, with only a handful of hidden skill points to uncover along the journey.
Completionists will be able to snag every achievement/trophy on a single run with little additional effort. Even if a second cleanup run were necessary, that would still put the total count under the double-digit hour mark. Sadly, there isn’t a whole lot to see here.
Shadow Warrior 3 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
