Battlefield 2042 is nearing its November 19th release, the latest launch date provided following a brief delay. We have gone hands-on time with the All Out Warfare via the Conquest offering on display in the recent beta. And DICE also took time last month to further detail Hazard Zone, the high stakes PvPvE mode. Now the developer is ready to show off more of the anticipated Battlefield Portal component of Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield Portal “lets you replay the reimagined classics,” including memorable entries such as Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3. The classic maps associated with the aforementioned entries can be mixed up with the modern selections available in the core Battlefield 2042 experience.
What this means is the historic armaments of 1942 soldiers can square off against the near-future technology of 2042 specialists. The community-driven mode will empower players to create their ideal Battlefield experience, no matter how old-school or crazy. And Portal is sure to excite those that haven’t yet been sold on DICE’s shift towards specialists over the series’ longtime class structure. Check out the video below for all-new gameplay of Battlefield Portal in action to get an idea of the madness hitting the iconic FPS.
Battlefield 2042 will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on November 19th. Early access begins November 12th for Battlefield 2042 Gold and Ultimate pre-orders as well as EA Play and Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
