Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Guerilla Games announced today that Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed from its previously planned holiday 2021 release window to February 18, 2022.
Sadly, the developer didn’t mention the reason for the delay but instead thanked their fans for unwavering support. Though for fans of the series, the game will be available for pre-order on September 2, 2021.
While the decision to move the game’s launch to 2022 certainly wasn’t easy, we’d like to take a moment to thank all of our fans for their unwavering support; we know how much you’ve been looking forward to reuniting with Aloy and her friends, continuing her story, and exploring a new and more dangerous world. Your passion, fan art, cosplay, virtual photography, and videos have meant the world to all of us.
Additionally, Guerilla Games released today the Enhanced Performance Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn when played on PS5. With the patch, PS5 players will be able to enjoy the game at a targeted 60 FPS.
