While Nintendo Switch version 12.1 isn’t the most beefy update to release for the system, it adds a new feature that might be invaluable for anyone running low on space.
According to the patch notes released by Nintendo, this update improves stability and adds the following feature:
If there is not enough space remaining on the system memory (internal storage) or microSD card when downloading game software update data, you can now delete old data for that software, enabling you to download the new data.
When deleting the old data, you won’t be able to play the game until the new data has finished downloading.

This feature is especially useful for games that get massive updates and long standing support, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or Monster Hunter.
Those interested should get the notification to download the update today.
