Godfall Fire & Darkness expansion announced; PS4 Version Confirmed

Gearbox Publishing and Counterplay Games is pleased to announce Godfall Fire & Darkness, the first expansion, a free update known as Lightbringer and finally confirmed the PlayStation 4 version for release on Aug. 10.

Godfall Fire & Darkness will let players enter the fire realm and face Moirax, along with the Flamebood Tribe, for the chance to claim “extravagant loot.” With over 20 new Valorplate skins, nearly a dozen new enemies, including multiple bosses and more, it sounds like a lot of new content for $19.99.

On the same day, Godfall will also receive an update referred to as Lightbringer. Similar to Primal, Lightbringer offers some rather large and welcome changes to the world of Godfall. These include a new mode referred to as Lightbringer, where players need to rush to close three tears while confronting overwhelming enemies. To help make things easier, curse items were added, which give players a massive boost if they can unlock their true potential. And, finally, the previously confirmed matchmaking beta is finally added.

Finally, those without a PlayStation 5 will be able to experience Godfall on PlayStation 4. Very little was revealed about the last-generation release, though it will offer cross-generation multiplayer and a free upgrade path for PlayStation 5. However, a downgrade path was not confirmed.
