History Repeats Itself as Bungie Warns Destiny 2 Players About Glitch Discovered in Vault of Glass

Yesterday Bungie made a number of friends by, unsurprisingly, revealing the new hunter exotic in Destiny 2, Star-Eater Scales, is bugged and will be disabled for the “first 24 hours Vault of Glass is live,” but that isn’t the only thing to keep in mind about tomorrow’s legacy raid.

In what almost feels like clever trolling or possibly welcome satire, Bungie Help, the official Bungie support twitter account, posted players who push Vault of Glass bosses over the edge in Destiny 2 will be disqualified from the world first race.

If this sounds vaguely familiar, it’s likely due to this being a problem present in the original version of Vault of Glass. Back when players didn’t have the power to easily finish the encounter, it was easier to just throw grenades at him until he went over the edge. The trick also worked for The Templar, though it wasn’t anywhere near as effective.

While players growing cynicism for Bungie leans towards questionable efforts to prevent the same mistakes from occurring in Destiny 2, a number of comments suggest it’s a far more powerful glitch that has been present for a while.

Supposedly, Raid Secrets moderator and YouTuber JB3 briefly posted a video of him sending a knight flying as a Stasis Warlock. Since then the video has been removed, so we unfortunately can’t confirm this story or share the “teaser,” but given the insistence it happened and Bungie issuing a tweet banning this tactic, it makes far more sense than they simply forgot about the multiple issues they’ve had with keeping Atheon from jumping.
