Following 505 Games purchasing the Ghostrunner IP, they revealed One More Level will be developing a sequel, Ghostrunner 2, for PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
Raffaele Galante, co-CEO of Digital Bros with his brother Rami had the following to say about the announcement:
We are particularly excited about the future release of Ghostrunner 2. Together with One More Level, we have created a thrilling and engaging video game. This new collaboration deepens 505 Games presence within the Polish videogame market, a reality now among the firsts in Europe for the development of video games, new projects and talents. We will continue to pay close attention to the Polish market to constantly improve and expand our product portfolio with video games capable of satisfying the tastes of the entire gaming community.
Ghostrunner 2 press release
No further details or release date were mentioned, it makes sense 505 Games would push for a sequel. Them purchasing the IP was a big indicator they saw potential in the one hit kill cyberpunk ninja game. Not to mention, the original title sold over 600,000 copies, a rather impressive feat for a new IP and unproven idea. Ideally the sequel will expand on what players love and take full advantage of the latest systems.
