Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate Revealed; Dragon Quest III Remake and More Announced

At long last Square Enix has finally announced the next entry in the Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. Even though no platforms or release date were given, it will feature a simultaneous release date, meaning players won’t need to watch Japan having all the fun.

That said, Yuji Horii, game designer for Dragon Quest, did offer some insight into Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. He mentioned this time the traditional combat system will be revamped, though not in a way that should alienate existing fans. In addition to that, it will boast choices that impact the world around you, along with dark and mature themes. Twitter also confirmed it will run on Unreal Engine 5.

Along with a new entry in the franchise, Square Enix also announced a remake of Dragon Quest III.

It will feature the HD-2D visual style some newer Square Enix titles have and appear on unspecified consoles sometime in the future. It will also have a simultaneous release.
